Get ready to cast a spell with our DIY wizard hat kids craft! We thought these wizard hats were the perfect craft for our wizard party and a must for your child’s wizard wardrobe while making our lava lamp potions! We partnered with Oriental Trading to create some of the best wizard party ideas and crafts.
What you need:
Grab two sheets of craft foam, any color. Measure two strips about 2” in width and the length of the foam paper. Cut out two strips.
On the second foam sheet, cut out a large triangle the width and length of the foam sheet. The foam sheets are 8.5 x 11”.
Decorate the large foam triangle with fun foam shapes. We thought stars and moons were perfect! You could also cut your own wizard shapes from the self adhesive foam, peel and stick to your triangle.
Glue the ends of the two strips together. Wrap the band around your child’s head to measure how big you will need it to be. Trim off any excess and glue the remaining two ends together. We used glue, however, a stapler would work too.
Place glue on the front of the bottom of your decorated triangle. Press the triangle onto the inner part of the band. I’d prefer using the hot glue for this step so that the staples don’t show through. You get a more finished look. You now have your very own DIY wizard hat kids craft! What kind of spells will you cast?
